Building a website

And so I have begun…

I have been inspired by a friend who was telling me about her website. I think having a presence on the internet outside of social media is a nice way to communicate certain things about me. In this way, I completely control the narrative and can make posts how I please.

That being said, I am using a service to build this website and I am making use of their site/blog templates. So who is really writing the narrative after all? In an ideal world I would just write my entire website from start to finish, HTML, JS, and all the web libraries you can imagine. But, not really being much of a web developer to begin with, why reinvent the wheel? People much more skilled than myself have built this nice platform to build and design things so why not take advantage.

I have the intent of using this as a place for my professional resume and accomplishments as well as a place to be creative and write down my thoughts. Hopefully, I can strike a balance between these two worlds. As some people say, don’t just tweet exactly what you are thinking.
